Help preserve Park City’s historic mining structures
Our current project is the Thaynes Mine, located near the base of the Thaynes chairlift at Park City Mountain. Every gift goes directly toward preserving, protecting, and promoting the structures that tell Park City’s silver mining story.
Meet the Team
The volunteers behind the route
The Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History is an all-volunteer committee of the Park City Historical Society & Museum.
We are passionate about historic preservation, outdoor recreation, mining, and mountains. Since our founding in 2015, we’ve donated thousands of hours to actively raise funds to preserve, protect, and promote Park City’s historic silver mining structures. Learn more about the structures we’ve saved at the Park City Museum website.
The Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History created the new Park City Historic Mine Route as a tribute to the miners of the past and a gift to future generations to hike, ride and connect with Park City’s unique stories. This route gives Park City’s mining heritage a permanent and meaningful presence within our community’s public trail system.
Here are just a few of the volunteers behind the scenes at the Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History and the Park City Historic Mine Route.
