What compelled you to join the Friends of Ski Mountain Mining History?
I came upon the Silver King building on a hike with my family and immediately fell in love. I was blown away by the structure and saddened by its current condition. My wife Carole and I decided to become financial supporters. But then I met the “Friends” and saw firsthand the passion they possess for the preservation of our silver mining history, and that led me to volunteer. It has been an amazing experience.
What I enjoy most about the Friends and the Historic Mine Route
I have made many new friends as part of the Friends. The dedication, passion, and knowledge of this group have deeply enhanced living in Park City for me. Before retirement, I worked in an intangible industry, so I am inherently drawn to the physical structures remaining that remind us of Park City’s rich history.
About me
I am a retired CEO of an investment firm based in Chicago. My family and I have had a presence in Park City since 2014, and now full-time residency after I retired in 2023. I have been mostly involved in educational philanthropy, but historical preservation is my new passion. I am on the Board of the Park City Museum and the Public Art Advisory Board in addition to my work with the Friends. Carole and I are blessed with five children and four grandchildren.
